The curators of Black Culture Week, the Timothy Francis Jones (Timbuck2) Foundation, Chicago Fit 4 Life, and the Howard University Alumni Association (Chicago) collaborate to host a wellness focused event that features the annual HBCU Softball Tournament, a house music fitness session, a wellness panel discussion, and informal engagement about cancer prevention. Some of Chicago’s most renowned DJ’s will be on hand to provide the sound track to this family friendly event.

Juneteenth Celebration & Welcoming the Warrior Black Martial Arts Exhibition

The Annual Juneteenth Celebration includes vendors, performances, and activities commemorating the freedom conferred to those formerly called slaves. This year’s celebration will also include the Welcoming the Warrior Black Martial Arts Exhibition. There will be workshops for people of all ages around different martial arts styles as performed and expressed in the black community, culminating with a one-on-one martial arts tournament amongst some of Chicago’s most adept practitioners.
